Elite Karate Academy I.K.D. is a thriving karate school that follows the principles set forth by Master Gichin Funakoshi.. However, once students acquire a certain standard, they spar regularly, practice kata bunkai and Embo. Even though Sensei Singh has more than capable instructors to assist in developing your karate skills, he conducts most of the classes directly. Exams are conducted every 3-4 months. Don't give up! Meditating is a major part of our training. Each class begins and ends in Mokuso (meditation) which helps in mental development. The goal is to attain a state of Mushin or "no mind."

On November 25, 2023, Sensei Forde Singh was promoted to Honorary 8th Dan Black Belt (Hachi Dan), inducted into the I.K.D.'s HALL OF FAME and received the I.K.D. MEDAL OF HONOR from Shuseki Shihan Frank Woon-A-Tai.
Sensei Singh taught Judo for many years in Georgetown Guyana. He participated in many local judo competitions sponsored by the Waterloo Judo School headed by Lawrence Van-Sertima. Sensei Dennis Singh was honored by Princess Margaret of the United Kingdom (England) at the then President Burnham's residence for his outstanding contribution to the Judo Federation.
Mr. Dennis Singh was a First Class Scout (wore the Green & Gold Cord). He was honored by Lord Baden Powel founder of the Boy Scout movement world wide at the 3rd Caribbean Jamboree held in Guyana's Queen Elizabeth Park (National Park) in 1969.
He also trained Carlton Kingston (Body Building) who later became Mr. Guyana.
